The ideal introductory textbook for any course at the first-year university level which touches upon environmental issues or earth systems science.
Wright (geology, U. of Georgia) and Shervais (geology, Utah State U.) edit selections from a symposium titled "Ophiolites, Batholiths, and Regional Geology: A Session in Honor of Cliff Hopson" held at the Cordilleran Section Meeting of The Geological Society of America in 2005. With contributions from geologists and earth scientists from throughout the United States, the title contains separate sections for papers on the topics of ophiolites, arcs, and batholiths. The publication is illustrated in both black-and-white and color, but contains no index.
This edited, multi-author book gathers selected, peer-reviewed contributions based on papers presented at the 23rd International Workshop on Quantum Systems in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology (QSCP-XXIII), held in Mopani Camp, The Kruger National Park, South Africa, in September 2018. The content is primarily intended for scholars, researchers, and graduate students working at universities and scientific institutes who are interested in the structure, properties, dynamics, and spectroscopy of atoms, molecules, biological systems, and condensed matter.
The 19 original papers on the tectonic evolution of mountain systems were collected to mark the 50th anniversary of Price's description of the Canadian Cordillera. A sampling of topics turns up the driving mechanism and three-dimensional circulation of plate tectonics, the Belt-Purcell Basic as the keystone of the Rocky Mountain fold-and-thrust belt in the US and Canada, Silurian-Devonian orogenic events in the central Appalachians and the crystalline southern Appalachians, and defining the eastern boundary of the North Asian craton from structural and subsidence history studies of the Verkhoyansk fold-and-thrust belt. A fold-out sheet of color maps and diagrams is tucked into a pocket inside the back cover.
The proceedings of the 30th International Geological Congress held in Beijing, China in August 1997. This volume focuses on Precambrian geology and metamorphic petrology. It aims to present a view of contemporary geology to researchers interested in the geological sciences.

"This volume presents field guides that span the breadth of central California's geology. The trips are associated with the 2013 GSA Cordilleran Section meeting, convened in Fresno, California, 18-25 May. The guides are to geologic localities that are not only iconic, but are also type examples of key geologic phenomena"--Provided by publisher.
Through a remarkable combination of intellect, self-confidence, engaging humility, and prodigious output of published work, William R. Dickinson influenced and challenged three generations of sedimentary geologists, igneous petrologists, tectonicists, sandstone petrologists, archaeologists, and other geoscientists. A key figure in the plate-tectonic revolution of the 1960s and 1970s, he explained how the distribution of sediments on Earth's surface could be traced to tectonic processes, and is widely recognized as a founder of modern sedimentary basin analysis. This volume consists of 31 chapters related to Dickinson's research interests; many of the authors are his former students, their students, and their students' students, demonstrating his continuing profound influence. The papers in this volume are an impressive tribute to the depth and breadth of Bill Dickinson's contributions to the geosciences.
