If you are not a military-trained commando or wilderness expert but just an ordinary child, then what’s the best way to survive in the wild? Does it help to know how to start a fire by rubbing sticks together, or should you carry a matchbox when you go out into the wild? A poacher, if caught and convicted for killing a protected animal, can be thrown behind the bars for several years. Yet it’s okay for a government to drown an entire ancient rainforest the size of a small country and every living creature in it for a ‘development’ project. Now how wacko is that?!! In this book, best buddies Shaila and Sachin face many such situations, which makes them realize just how wacko and absurd some of our attitudes to and dealings with animals, nature, and wildlife can be. Follow their journey to know what needs to change before we relearn to coexist with nature.
The primary purpose of this book is to provide a catharsis for myself. Maybe if I strip my mental, emotional and spiritual selves naked in little one-inch strips, analyzing what I find there, I’ll be able to understand myself. The secondary purpose is to use myself as a model for what I suspect is going on in the world. Mother Earth and all her cells (people) are undergoing a nervous breakdown, I sense. The old ways of being and doing are no longer working. I feel religion (man’s beliefs “about” God) is the fundamental cause of our erroneous assumptions about who we are, as a species, in relation to God (Infinite Intelligence). As I look around, pre- and post-September 11, 2001, I see that warring religious beliefs are at the foundation of the insanity in the world. Whatever God is, I AM THAT. And so are you. We’re all one. Let us minimize our differences and focus on what makes us all human. I feel it is life. And I further feel that LIFE is sending us urgent messages to unite in Love, so we can live in Peace. The alternative is to destroy ourselves and each other.
This short, joyful, rhyming picture book tells a simple story of growing up and nurturing a special relationship with a grandparent. It depicts the major milestones a young child reaches in the early years of development, such as walking, learning to eat independently, riding a bike, beginning to write and draw, and finally going to school. Each stanza and double spread depicts this growth and development in progression, and the text alternates between child and Grandpa, who share each experience with humor and joy
Teens savagely murder a couple in the name of their vampire cult. A sex-starved teacher cannot get enough of her young male student. The case of a missing child keeps cops awake at night for years after his confounding disappearance. During his decades-long crime coverage in Central Florida, journalist Frank Stanfield covered every atrocity that man or nature could unleash. Vampires, Gators, and Wackos: A Florida Newspaperman’s Life recounts some of the frequently craven, and at times downright stupid, crimes Stanfield covered during his time in the field. He somehow made it through without winding up more mental than the crackpots he tracked. However, his unvarnished, no-holds-barred acco...

Seven Floors High is based around a true story of life inside iaxis, a London based telecoms start-up company valued at US$1 Billion during the “Dot.Com” boom. Written with style, insight and often hilarious humour, Goddard’s story is an exhilarating account of greed, hubris and corporate extravagance in the iaxis quest for a stock market floatation. Set as a background to the iaxis story, Seven Floors High also contains a very powerful Non-Fiction sub-theme which lifts the lid on the secret world of NSA telecommunications spying and covert CIA operations in the Middle East.
