This volume presents the contributions given at an international labour conference held in Austria in June 2001 to investigate these issues. It provides the latest labour trends in EU accession countries and compares them to previous experiences of European integration. Returns to Education in the Economic Transition
This paper examines the assertion that returns to schooling increase as an economy transitions to a market environment. This claim has been difficult to assess as existing empirical evidence covers only a few countries over short time periods.
