The number of kids who love to play soccer has exploded in the last decade. Unfortunately, so has the number of sports injuries. Why? More games, more competitions, and early specialization have all contributed, but so have our methods of training them. High pressure to perform along with an increased volume and intensity of training has combined to hamper young soccer athletes. They favor one side, overuse one muscle group, and do it over and over again. This is a recipe for injury. In Fit 2 Finish, Dr. LeBolt takes a sport scientist's eye to the training of our soccer-loving kids. She distills the gems of two decades of coaching and injury prevention training to display the methods that ha...
Jesus affirmed that the greatest purpose of our lives is to love God. But how do we express love to a God we can't see or touch? Each of us has a body, and our bodies and senses provide tangible ways for us to know and love God. Author Wendy LeBolt writes, "We are made to move in God's direction, by God's initiative, and at God's pace. Our bodies will speak to us if we listen. Our bodies will teach us if we pay attention." Made to Move is a 6-week study designed to help people of all ages experience God through heart, soul, mind, strength, and stretch, using activities that engage the body and its senses, as well as the mind, including its imagination. Through daily prayer, scripture reading, reflection, and activities, individuals and groups will discover the masterpiece God created and is continuously crafting in their lives. Made to Move can be used by individuals and groups, including intergenerational groups. Includes a Leader's Guide.
Fit 2 Finish examines the reason injuries are rising in our youth athletes, how traditional training in today’s sports environment is contributing to the problem and provides the method and means to right this course, better preparing players to fend off injury as they develop in the game. Goal: to educate coaches about how training can contribute to injury and instruct them in adopting healthy training techniques that are fun and effective for the kids they coach or train. Uniqueness: F2F teaches coaches how to include healthy physical preparation with their team. It makes them practitioners of the F2F method with age-appropriate drills and games they can take directly to the field. Techniques will be supported by online video for visual reinforcement and shareability. The method is broad but the application can be tailored by the coach directly for his/her players. The F2F training plan is PRE-injury movement training, designed for the young soccer player (8-14+ years) to develop healthy sport movement that will prevent future injuries.

Ask most of the millions of pre-teen soccer-playing girls in America if they plan to make the U.S. Women's National Team someday and the answer for them - and most of their parents - will be a resounding "Yes!" Among the most successful international teams in any sport in the past three decades, the USNWT has emerged as a collective cultural icon, with its individual members redrafting the very definition of female across the globe. With the lines blurring between male and female behavior, girls are competing ferociously and celebrating wildly without apology. Women are demanding gender and racial equity, while dressing and speaking authentically, and loving however and whomever they choose....
Miért követünk másokat még akkor is, ha tudjuk, hogy nincs igazuk? Hogyan segíti elő a környezetvédelmet a szomszédok megfigyelése? Miért parkolunk rosszabbul mások társaságában? Mikor jobb a tömeget követni, és mikor célravezető a saját utunkat járni? Észre sem vesszük, de mások elképesztő mértékben befolyásolják életünk szinte minden területét. Jonah Berger, a Wharton Üzleti Iskola marketingprofesszora, a Ragályos! – Hogyan terjed a siker? című könyv szerzője bemutatja, milyen egyszerű, mégis gyakran meglepő módokon hatnak mások a viselkedésünkre. Ha azonban felismerjük a társas befolyás hatását, tudatosabb döntéseket hozhatunk, sőt növelhetjük a saját befolyásunkat, és sikeresebb, teljesebb értékű társas kapcsolatokra tehetünk szert.
