Quando falamos em vanguarda nos referimos a algo que está à frente do seu tempo, que consegue enxergar e vivenciar tendências, movimentos e formas de ser completamente novas e, muitas vezes, revolucionárias, porque quebram padrões, modificam velhas situações e incomodam os olhares conservadores. Uma educação de vanguarda é uma educação que pensa em como ensinar e aprender, fazendo de cada sujeito um ser realizado e não apenas formado. A educação deve ser como subir numa árvore, buscando-se ver além e não somente se conformar e seguir com a visão baixa do todo. Neste livro reunimos alguns pensadores para discutir experiências de vanguarda em países lusófonos.
Estudos de gênero e sexualidade na contemporaneidade
Esta obra, através de seus incríveis capítulos, traz à tona, a partir do campo que permite a compressão do discurso, da interação, da existência e da resistência, sobretudo; evidencia em seus capítulos várias abordagens que podem ser entendidas como necessárias ao campo dos estudos de gênero e sexualidade, compreendendo principalmente que essas abordagens não se esgotam aqui, mas podem ser continuadas para além dos questionamentos, podem ser posturas de vivência e relações de poder no mundo. Os capítulos, de modo geral, apontam às necessidades de olhares atentos às questões tão necessárias quanto importantes de serem evidenciadas, trazendo diversas perspectivas que dialogam com várias áreas do conhecimento como molas propulsoras da resistência: as narrativas de sujeitas/os/es que estão inseridas em grupos considerados marginalizados. Desse modo, entendemos que as/os/es autoras/es/is possibilitam discussões que pertinentes à contemporaneidade, de sorte que se encontram em constante interação com o meio social e político os quais estão em torno das constituições identitárias e dos movimentos sociais.

About Trees considers our relationship with language, landscape, perception, and memory in the Anthropocene. The book includes texts and artwork by a stellar line up of contributors including Jorge Luis Borges, Andrea Bowers, Ursula K. Le Guin, Ada Lovelace and dozens of others. Holten was artist in residence at Buro BDP. While working on the book she created an alphabet and used it to make a new typeface called Trees. She also made a series of limited edition offset prints based on her Tree Drawings.
