The present supplement volume, A 7, is the first of a triad, A 5 to A 7, dealing with the chemical reactions of metallic tungsten. It describes the reactions with inorganic and organic compounds, except for formation reactions of organotungsten compounds. Volume A 6, to appear at the beginning of 1988, will cover the reactions of tungsten with metallic elements. Volume A 5, in preparation for 1988/89, will contain the reactions with nonmetallic elements and, in addition, cover the electrochemistry of tungsten. With the appearance of this last volume, the present knowledge of the chemistry of tungsten will be compiled in more than 1000 pages. In the Gmelin main volume on tungsten, published i...
This is the first supplementary volume on silicon-nitrogen compounds. It begins with the system silicon-nitrogen and continues with the binary silicon nitrides, except for Si3N4 that will be the subject of a separate Handbook volume. A chapter describes anionic formula units of the type SixNr and includes a condensed description of a series of ternary silicon nitrides. A treatment follows of the molecular and polymeric silicon-nitrogen-hydrogen compounds in which hydrogen is bonded either to silicon, or to nitrogen, or to both. In other words, those compounds have been selected for this chapter in which one or more nitrogen atoms are bonded to silicon and also those compounds in which additi...
The five-volume set LNCS 11536, 11537, 11538, 11539, and 11540 constitutes the proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Computational Science, ICCS 2019, held in Faro, Portugal, in June 2019. The total of 65 full papers and 168 workshop papers presented in this book set were carefully reviewed and selected from 573 submissions (228 submissions to the main track and 345 submissions to the workshops). The papers were organized in topical sections named: Part I: ICCS Main Track Part II: ICCS Main Track; Track of Advances in High-Performance Computational Earth Sciences: Applications and Frameworks; Track of Agent-Based Simulations, Adaptive Algorithms and Solvers; Track of Applicatio...

Along with numerous illustrative examples, this text provides an overview of the dynamic behavior of dislocations and its relation to plastic deformation. It introduces the general properties of dislocations and treats the dislocation dynamics in some detail.
A long look at how contemporary Germany is remembering the Holocaust
The Eco-Cops, a band of outcasts from regular police corps, have been created to combat ecological crime. Their boss, Renata Fechter, has been given the thankless command to remind her that she is a woman in a man's world. Now her squad is set on the trail of a group dumping illegal toxic wastes.
