This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th Australian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, AI 2002, held in Canberra, Australia in December 2002. The 62 revised full papers and 12 posters presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 117 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on natural language and information retrieval, knowledge representation and reasoning, deduction, learning theory, agents, intelligent systems. Bayesian reasoning and classification, evolutionary algorithms, neural networks, reinforcement learning, constraints and scheduling, neural network applications, satisfiability reasoning, machine learning applications, fuzzy reasoning, and case-based reasoning.
This volume deals with the intellectual world of "progressive" monks on the eve of the Reformation in the sixteenth century. Biographical sketches of three Benedictines and three Cistercians vicariously represent the lives and works of humanists in cloisters (Klosterhumanismus).
Data Mining is the process of posing queries and extracting useful information, patterns and trends previously unknown from large quantities of data [Thu, 00]. It is the process where intelligent tools are applied in order to extract data patterns [JM, 01]. This encompasses a number of different technical approaches, such as cluster analysis, learning classification and association rules, and finding dependencies. Agents are defined as software entities that perform some set of tasks on behalf of users with some degree of autonomy. This research work deals about developing a automated data mining system which encompasses the familiar data mining algorithms using intelligent agents in object ...
This edited book explores the use of technology to enable us to visualise the life sciences in a more meaningful and engaging way. It will enable those interested in visualisation techniques to gain a better understanding of the applications that can be used in visualisation, imaging and analysis, education, engagement and training. The reader will be able to explore the utilisation of technologies from a number of fields to enable an engaging and meaningful visual representation of the biomedical sciences, with a focus in this volume related to anatomy, and clinically applied scenarios. The first six chapters in this volume show the wide variety of tools and methodologies that digital techn...
This volume contains the 137 papers accepted for presentation at the 15th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI '02), which is organized by the European Co-ordination Committee on Artificial Intelligence.
