This meeting has been motivated by two events: the 85th birthday of Pierre Lelong, and the end of the third year of the European network "Complex analysis and analytic geometry" from the programme Human Capital and Mobility. For the first event, Mathematicians from Poland, Sweden, United States and France, whose work is particularly related to the one ofP. Lelong have accepted to participate; for the second, the different teams of the Network sent lecturers to report on their most recent works. This volume contains the proceedings of a conference held from June 4-6, 2010, at Oklahoma State University, in honor of William (Bus) Jaco's 70th birthday. His contributions to research in low dimensional geometry and topology and to the American mathematical community, especially through his work for the American Mathematical Society, were recognized during the conference. The focus of the conference was on triangulations and geometric structures for three-dimensional manifolds. The papers in this volume present significant new results on these topics, as well as in geometric group theory.
This two-volume set LNCS 13968 and 13969 constitutes the proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Advances in Swarm Intelligence, ICSI 2023, which took place in Shenzhen, China, China, in July 2023. This volume represents the 2010 Jairo Charris Seminar in Algebraic Aspects of Darboux Transformations, Quantum Integrable Systems and Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics, which was held at the Universidad Sergio Arboleda in Santa Marta, Colombia. The papers cover the fields of Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Integrable Systems, from an algebraic point of view. This volume contains cutting-edge research from leading experts in ergodic theory, dynamical systems and group actions. A large part of the volume addresses various aspects of ergodic theory of general group actions including local entropy theory, universal minimal spaces, minimal models and rank one transformations. A memorial conference for Leon Ehrenpreis was held at Temple University, November 15-16, 2010. In the spirit of Ehrenpreis’s contribution to mathematics, the papers in this volume, written by prominent mathematicians, represent the wide breadth of subjects that Ehrenpreis traversed in his career, including partial differential equations, combinatorics, number theory, complex analysis and a bit of applied mathematics. With the exception of one survey article, the papers in this volume are all new results in the various fields in which Ehrenpreis worked . There are papers in pure analysis, papers in number theory, papers in what may be called applied mathematics such as population biology and parallel refractors and papers in partial differential equations. This volume contains research and expository articles from the courses and talks given at the RSME Lluis A. Santalo Summer School, ``Geometric Analysis'', held June 28-July 2, 2010, in Granada, Spain. The goal of the Summer School was to present some of the many advances currently taking place in the interaction between partial differential equations and differential geometry, with special emphasis on the theory of minimal surfaces. This volume includes expository articles about the current state of specific problems involving curvature and partial differential equations, with interactions to neighboring fields such as probability. An introductory, mostly self-contained course on constant mean curvature surfaces in Lie groups equipped with a left invariant metric is provided. The volume will be of interest to researchers, post-docs, and advanced PhD students in the interface between partial differential equations and differential geometry.
