Toplum içinde yaşayan bireylerin ihtiyaçları ile toplumun beklentileri arasındaki dengeyi sağlamada ve bireylere gerekli bilgi ve becerileri kazandırmada sosyal bilimler alanına önemli görevler düşmektedir. Sürekli değişim ve gelişimlerin yaşandığı günümüz dünyasında en az bilgiyi üretmek kadar bu birikimleri başkaları ile paylaşmak da başarının sağlanması açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu açıdan bünyesinde birçok bilim dalını barındıran ve her geçen gün daha da önem kazanan sosyal bilimler alanında önemli sayıda çalışma yapılmış ve bu çalışmaların sonuçları toplumların şekillenmesine önemli katkılar sağlamıştır. Bu amaçla “Sosyal, Beşeri ve İdari Bilimler Alanında Uluslararası Araştırmalar XII” adlı bu eserde farklı disiplinlerdeki bilim insanlarının uzmanlık alanlarına yönelik yapmış oldukları, sosyal bilimler alanında teorik ve pratik literatürün gelişimine katkı sağlayacak ve okuyuculara rehber olabilecek özgün çalışmalara yer verilmiştir.

In the Name of the Nation
This book deconstructs the equation of nationalism with the extreme right in Russia. Nationalism now extends throughout all ofthe countryand can not be seen as a phenomenon confined to the margins of society. This study rejects the interpretation that understands Kremlin-backed patriotism as simply part of a fascist trend in Russia and as a rapprochement between the political authorities and the extreme right. A simplistic analysis of such a paradoxical phenomenon addresses neither the basic issue of social consensus nor that of the inherent relationship between national identity and citizenship.
Bibliometric Studies and Worldwide Research Trends on Global Health
Global health, conceived as a discipline, aims to train, research and respond to problems of a transboundary nature, in order to improve health and health equity at the global level. The current worldwide situation is ruled by globalization, and therefore the concept of global health involves not only health-related issues, but also those related to the environment and climate change. Therefore, in this Special Issue, the problems related to global health have been addressed from a bibliometric approach in four main areas: environmental issues, diseases, health, education and society.
Identity and Intolerance
In a world of increasingly heterogeneous societies, matters of identity politics and the links between collective identities and national, racial, or ethnic intolerance have assumed dramatic significance - and have stimulated an enormous body of research and literature which rarely transcends the limitations of a national perspective, however, and thus reproduces the limitations of its own topic. Comparative attempts are rare, if not altogether absent. Identity and Intolerance attempts to shift the focus toward comparison in order to show how German and American societies have historically confronted matters of national, racial, and ethnic inclusion and exclusion. This perspective sheds light on the specific links between the cultural construction of nationhood and otherness, the political modes of integration and exclusion, and the social conditions of tolerance and intolerance. The contributors also attempt to integrate the approaches offered by the history of ideas and ideologies, social history, and discourse theory.
Bokhandlaren i Kabul
Hösten 2001 reser journalisten Åsne Seierstad till Afghanistan för att skriva om människorna i ett trasigt land under uppbyggnad.Talibanerna har nyligen flytt och ett stort hopp hägrar.
