Grotesque: Monster Stories

In a collection inspired by the mythologies of Europe, China, and her beloved Aotearoa-New Zealand, four-time Bram Stoker Award®-winner Lee Murray twists and subverts ancient themes, stitching new creatures from blood and bone, hiding them in soft forest mists and dark subterranean prisons. In this volume, construction workers uncover a hidden tunnel, soldiers wander, lost after a skirmish, and a dead girl yearns for company. Featuring eleven uncanny tales of automatons, zombies, golems, and dragons, and including the Taine McKenna adventure “Into the Clouded Sky”, Murray’s Grotesque: Monster Stories breathes new life into the monster genre.

This book of poetry was written by a mother and a daughter during 2020. Separated by an ocean, connected through poetry. Like water, poetry is a flow of words that can build or break. Both demand respect. Both hide monsters in their depth. A family matter, this book honors four living generations of blood. It pays tribute to the vast sea of weepings from all those who came before us. Whether from pain or joy, from them came us. It seeks to bridge the unfathomable and connect. It calls upon the mysterious and liquid feminine to heal. The first book under Yuriko Publishing, it honors a grandmother-all the grandmothers. From them, we are here. Because of their prayers, we have made it so far.

Ab Initio Molecular Dynamics Analysis Based on Reduced-Dimensionality Reaction Route Map

This thesis proposes useful tools, on-the-fly trajectory mapping method and Reaction Space Projector (ReSPer), to analyze chemical reaction mechanisms by combining the reaction route map and the ab initio molecular dynamics. The key concept for the proposed tools is the Cartesian distance between pairwise molecular structures, and a practical procedure to get the optimal distance is introduced. The on-the-fly trajectory mapping method tracks the distance function between reference structures and molecular structures along the trajectory. Although this method provides fruitful insight into dynamic reaction behaviors, the visualization of reaction routes into a low-dimensional space is still c...
