In recent years, micro- and nanotechnologies became key technologies, having a significant effect on the development of new products and production technologies, as well as on novel medical diagnosis and treatment methods. Moreover, due to their enormous potential for new applications, micro- and nanotechnologies, in future, will increasingly affect our every days life, with an impact, comparable to that of the industrial revolution in the 19th century, or the developments in microelectronics in the 20th century. Although, micro- and nanotechnologies, in general, are regarded as two independent disciplines, there is obviously an intense interaction between these two fascinating technologies....
The international symposium “POLYCONDENSATION 2002” (15-18 September, in Hamburg, Germany) was the 4th meeting of a series launched in Paris 1996. This symposium covered topics such as: New theories New synthetic methods Block copolymers Hyperbranched polymers Liquid crystalline polymers Properties and application This book contains (oral) contributions of the symposium.
This volume of Macromolecular Symposia contains papers presented at the 1st International Symposium on "Reactive Polymers in Inhomogeneous Systems, in Melts and at Interfaces" held in Dresden Germany in July 2000. It includes 42 contributions from renowned scientists dealing with topics of current interest in the field of synthesis, characterization and application of reactive and functional polymers. The papers add significantly to the current understanding of the role of reactive polymers in phenomena such as adhesion, colloidal stability, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility - comprehension which is vital for improving the polymer technologies available today and for the development of new applications.
This book contains the proceedings of the Additive Manufacturing in Product Development Conference. The content focus on how to support real-world value chains by developing additive manufactured series products.
