The oeuvre of Frank Stella (*1936 in Malden, Massachusetts) blurs the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and architecture. Over a period of five decades, the artist consistently reinvented himself, always seeking new challenges. Frank Stella: Connections brings together a careful selection of paintings and sculptures in broad thematic groupings. Within the scope of what is only a rough chronology, leaps in time enable encounters, juxtapositions, and dialogues between works from different series, thus exploring the underlying motifs and extraordinary rigor of Stella's artistic work. The publication comprises early Minimalist works, examples from major series such as the Irregular Polygons and Protractor paintings of the sixties, the Polish Village series, Circuits, and the Cone and Pillar series of the seventies and eighties. It also includes the metal reliefs and monumental floor sculptures the artist has produced in the last two decades. Intended as a progressive development of the twin-engined Bf 110 Zerstörer ('destroyer' or heavy fighter), the Me 210 first took to the air in September 1939. However, due to a lack of sufficient flight-testing before being declared service-ready, the Me 210 suffered from a less than satisfactory reputation in respect to its flight characteristics and weak undercarriage. After enhancements were made to the fuselage and wings, and the power of the plane was increased, the Me 210 became the Me 410 in late 1942. Lectures in Isotope Geology
Our colleagues from the French-speaking parts of Switzerland - the Suisses romands - and above all the committee of the 3rd Cycle, e Earth Sciences (3 Cycle, Sciences de la Terre) honored us by asking us to give a course on Isotope Geology for the year 1977. The course, entitled Evaluation et Interpretation des Donnees Isotopiques (eval uation and Interpretation of Isotopic Data), was intended to inform earth scientists, graduate and postgraduate, from the western Swiss Universities on the subject of Isotope Geology. Such courses usually consist of two parts: lectures and excursions. Thus, in March 1977, we gave such a two-week course at the Miner alogical Institute of the University of Berne. The first week was devoted essentially to the methods of dating, the second week to the behavior of stable isotopes. In July 1977, on the occasion of an excursion to the Central and Western Alps, we were able to demonstrate our results. Guest professors were invited to make contributions to the course.

The 13th Italian Conference on General Relativity and Gravitational Physics was held in Cala Corvino-Monopoli (Bari) from September 21to September 25, 1998.
