This book gathers contributions on analytical, numerical, and application aspects of time-delay systems, under the paradigm of control theory, and discusses recent advances in these different contexts, also highlighting the interdisciplinary connections. The book will serve as a useful tool for graduate students and researchers in the fields of dynamical systems, automatic control, numerical methods, and functional analysis.
As the field of FinTech continues its progress, financial institutions must not only enhance their digitization, but also make serious efforts to understand the resulting new opportunities it creates. In line with these developments, TABF has published the book Basic knowledge on FinTech, which was designed by us as a reference for the FinTech Knowledge Test. Co-authored by TABF staff and other experts, it features balanced and credible analysis, avoiding trivia and overly complex concepts while emphasizing readability. The content structure is based on the World Economic Forum (WEF)'s roadmap for FinTech development, adding in TABF's research findings plus other domestic and international trends and practices. Not only is Basic knowledge on FinTech suitable for financial proficiency testing, but it can also be used as a textbook in university courses, supplementing theoretical knowledge with up-to-date practical knowledge in this rapidly changing field.
Since the first edition was published, new technologies have come up, especially in the area of convergence of Computing and Communications, accompanied by a lot of new technical terms. This second expanded and updated edition has been worked out to cope with this situation. The number of entries has been incremented by 35%. With about 159,000 entries, this dictionary offers a valuable guide to navigate through the entanglement of German and English terminology. The lexicographic concept (indication of the subject field for every term, short definitions, references to synonyms, antonyms, general and derivative terms) has been maintained, as well as the tabular layout.
They say the country of Zeuten no longer has any need for heroes. Quests have been completed, the great Powers have withdrawn from the world, and the Sentinels who guard the last Relics are largely forgotten. Unlike their neighbours in the country of Aestin, whose Invokers wield the magic of the deities in exchange for glory and prestige, they leave the gods alone, and the gods extend the same courtesy to them. When Zeuten's last Sentinel disappears, Zelle, her granddaughter, intends to track her down. Instead she runs into an Aestinian stranger with no memories of his past, who claims to be looking for a long-lost Relic hidden in the mountains by the first Sentinels. To Zelle, the rumours o...
Zelle Carnelian has claimed the allegiance of the nameless Shaper, the enigmatic ancient deity whose name was forgotten by mortals and gods alike. Together with Arien Astera, who has claimed a new Relic of his own, and Evita Govind, would-be assassin, they defeated Orzen and prevented him from unleashing havoc on the human world. But Orzen is not the only deity with his sights set on escaping from the realm of the gods. When her sister is captured by a cult of devotees to an unknown deity, Zelle's quest to find her leads across the perilous sea to the Isles of Itzar. Teeming with dangerous beasts and strange magic, the Isles are not a destination for the faint of heart, and Zelle and the others are well aware that they might be sailing straight into a trap. Soon her sister's plight becomes only one of Zelle's concerns, between mysterious Relics appearing on Itzar's beaches, a struggle between two rival factions and a rogue deity with an unknown agenda. It'll push Zelle and the others to their limits to navigate these dangerous waters and escape alive…
Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859-1941) ruled Imperial Germany from his accession in 1888 to his enforced abdication in 1918 at the end of the First World War. This book, based on a wealth of previously unpublished archival material, provides the most detailed account ever written of the first half of his reign. Following on from John Röhl's definitive and highly acclaimed Young Wilhelm: The Kaiser's Early Life, 1859-1888 (1998), the volume demonstrates the monarch's dynastic arrogance and the wounding abuse he showered on his own people as, step by step, he built up his personal power. His thirst for glory, his overweening nationalism and militarism and his passion for the navy provided the impetus ...
