Therapeutic Relevance and Mechanisms of Neuro-Immune Communication in Brain Injury

The brain is a critical organ with neuro-immune communication. The nervous system and immune system evolved to provide regulation of physiological homeostasis and protect against threats. Neuro-immune communication is correlated with physiological functions of various tissues and organs, and the internal environment balance. In brain trauma, the neural network is destroyed and the neuro-immune communication process is impaired. However, the research on this process is insufficient and limited. A thorough clarification of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuro-immune communication in brain injury is an essential necessary endeavor in the search for new therapeutic targets for brain injury. This Research Topic is devoted to the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuro-immune communication in brain injury and on the meaningful exploration of how the nervous system regulates the immune system to promote neurofunctional recovery after brain injury.

This Standard specifies evaluation levels, evaluation procedures for energy performance of motor system. This Standard is applicable to evaluation of the energy efficiency of the stable running motor system (hereinafter referred to as the system) composed of small and medium sized electric motors (below 1000kW), single driving equipment (fan, pump, air compressor) and its control device, transmission device and pipe network. Other complex motor systems, motor system stations can use this document as reference.

GB/T 37230-2018 Translated English of Chinese Standard. (GBT 37230-2018, GB/T37230-2018, GBT37230-2018)

This Standard specifies the colors and their coding that express the degree of hazards in emergency early warnings, as well as the basic requirement for the consideration of factors like color blindness. This Standard provides guidelines for the use of early warning colors to express the severity of dangerous situations for people at risk and emergency responders. This Standard is applicable to early warning of any type of emergencies occurring in any place.

New Insights into Brain Imaging Methods for Rehabilitation of Brain Diseases

Brain diseases such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease cause dysfunction in multiple body systems. Motor dysfunction, cognitive impairment, dysphagia, and emotion disorders are frequently observed in patients with brain diseases. As the dysfunctions are associated with alterations in the brain, brain imaging methods such as functional MRI (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) are essential for investigating the neural mechanisms underlying the dysfunction caused by brain diseases. Brain imaging methods are also critical for understanding the neural mechanisms for the effectiveness of therapeutic or rehabilitative interventions that promote recovery from brain diseases. The usage of these brain imaging methods would deepen our understanding of brain diseases and potentially translate this knowledge to improve effectiveness of rehabilitative interventions for brain diseases.
