Ömer Seyfeddin üzerinde daha önceleri de birtakım çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmaların çoğu, alışılmış bir sistemle; yazarın biyografisini ve eserlerinden numuneleri vermekle yetindikleri için bilinenleri tekrardan öteye gidememişlerdir. Ancak Ali Canib. H. Fethi Gözler ve Tahir Alangu’nun çalışmalarını bu kanaatin dışında tutmalıyız. Biz bu çalışmamızda, Ömer Seyfeddin’in biyografisi üzerinde uzun uzadıya durmak yerine, yazarın bütün eserlerinden hareketle sadece tarihî hikâyelerinin tahlillerini yaparak onun Müslüman-Türk insanına vermek istediği ruhu ifade etmeye çalıştık. Çalışmamızın mevcut çalışmalardan farklı olan bir başka yanı de araştırma bünyesinde “Ömer Seyfeddin Bibliyografyası” na yer vermiş olmasıdır.
