This may be the first book in the world written and published using bigger spaces in the text. You will get the possibility to evaluate a new scientific idea. You will get the opportunity to answer if texts are wrongly written. That is the main idea of this book. Hence the title. At the same time we can study the will to truth. If scientists can wait to publish results you will be able to know before they do. I urge them to wait to publish their results a year after the release of this book to let everyone first build their own opinion. Then they can get ahead. I think that could strenghten the social capital. What do you think they should do? How should we manage our will to truth? Please give voice to your opinion after reading this book.
Typography is language and design for reading. Typographic manual is the first manual for the cluster text style, i.e. for texts intended to be read for longer periods of time. Since the birth of typography (Gutenberg), we have created books with text rectangles that are nice to look at. The picture of the rectangle text held us captive. This manual clearly shows the inaccuracies in that approach. Depending on how we read, 100-600 wpm, and if we measure reading speed in wpm, day span, or week span, the cluster text style can be 5-30 percent better to read. Its longer line length, wider text column, larger sentence spacings, and better line changes improve legibility. All in all, this gives a...

"I'll tell you what, Ygberg, I believe one has to be very unscrupulous if one wants to get on in the world." That's how The Red Room could be summarised through one of its sentences. Through a number of cultural workers Strindberg asks the question of how life should be lived. As a young person, you can pretend to be an ardent idealist; as an older, somewhat sober person, you can come to realise that what you from the beginning thought to be idealistic may not really be. Through its straightforward language The Red Room (1879) is often called the first modern novel in Swedish. It constitutes a representation of Stockholm in the 1870s and is known for its depictions of the urban environment a...
This book defines the broad parameters of social change for Native American nations in the twenty-first century, as well as their prospects for cultural continuity. Many of the themes Champagne tackles are of general interest in the study of social change including governmental, economic, religious, and environmental perspectives.
This unique collection focuses on the work of legendary Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman. Written in the wake of the centenary of Bergman’s birth in 2018, the volume aims to combine new approaches to Bergman’s films and writings with more traditional analyses. Established themes such as Bergman’s interest in philosophy and psychology are addressed, but also less familiar topics, notably his relationship with Hollywood and his elaborate use of film music and autobiographical writing that characterised his later work. There are new analyses of aspects of Bergman’s most famous films, including Smiles of a Summer Night and Fanny and Alexander, but also insightful readings of lesser-known works, such as Saraband and Sawdust and Tinsel.
Peter Cowie's book chronicles the life and the 60-year film and stage career of Bergman as he wrestles of themes of love, sex and betrayal with the figure of Death hovering overhead. Blending biographical information with critical comment, Cowie presents a man whose life and work were intimately fused. 'Bergman's films stand alone as beacons in film history.' Wim Wenders
