The 12th Winter Workshop on Nuclear Dynamics carried on the tradition, started in 1978, of bringing together scientists working in all regimes of nuclear dynamics. This broad range of related topics allows the researcher attending the Workshop to be exposed to work that normally would be considered outside his/her field, but could po tentially add a new dimension to the understanding of his/her work. Heavy Ion Physics From Bevalac To Rhic - Proceedings Of The Relativistic Heavy Ion Symposium, Aps Centennial Meeting '99
This book represents the proceedings of a symposium held during the centennial meeting of the American Physical Society. It covers the latest results in experimental heavy ion physics from the Alternating Gradient Accelerator in the US and the SpS at CERN, and summarizes the current theoretical and experimental state of the field before the commissioning of RHIC. Spins in Nuclear and Hadronic Reactions
Spin physics is one of the most important and active areas of theoretical/experimental nuclear physics. In nuclear reactions, the observations of spin polarizations give important clues to the nuclear structures and reaction mechanism. For high energy nuclear physics, the polarized quark-parton distributions of the nucleon/nucleus are studied intensively. In the study of baryon structures and nuclear astrophysics, spin is an important observable through hadron reactions. The focus of these proceedings is on the spin-dependent phenomena in nuclear and hadronic reactions and related topics in nuclear and hadron physics. The main subjects covered are: Spin polarization phenomena in nuclear and hadronic reactions; spin-dependent excitations in nuclei and spin observables; recent development in nuclear reaction theories; spin-dependent phenomena in fundamental processes; related topics.
