The intricate 3D structure of the CNS lends itself to multimedia presentation, and is depicted here by way of dynamic 3D models that can be freely rotated, and in over 200 illustrations taken from the successful book 'The Human Central Nervous System' by R. Nieuwenhuys et al, allowing the user to explore all aspects of this complex and fascinating subject. All this fully hyperlinked with over 2000 specialist terms. Optimal exam revision is guaranteed with the self-study option. For further information please contact: http://www.brainmedia.de/html/frames/pr/pr 5/pr 5 02.html
The discrete logarithm problem based on elliptic and hyperelliptic curves has gained a lot of popularity as a cryptographic primitive. The main reason is that no subexponential algorithm for computing discrete logarithms on small genus curves is currently available, except in very special cases. Therefore curve-based cryptosystems require much smaller key sizes than RSA to attain the same security level. This makes them particularly attractive for implementations on memory-restricted devices like smart cards and in high-security applications. The Handbook of Elliptic and Hyperelliptic Curve Cryptography introduces the theory and algorithms involved in curve-based cryptography. After a very d...
ASIACRYPT’98, the international conference covering all aspects of theory and application of cryptology and information security, is being held at Beijing Friendship Hotel from October 18 to 22. This is the fourth of the Asiacrypt conferences. ASIACRYPT’98 is sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Information Security (SKLOIS), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and the Asiacrypt Steering Committee (ASC), in cooperation with the International Association for Cryptology Research (IACR). The 16-member Program Committee organized the scientific program and considered 118 submissions. Of these, 32 were accepted for presentation. The authors’ affiliations of the 118 sub...
Developed from the author's popular graduate-level course, Computational Number Theory presents a complete treatment of number-theoretic algorithms. Avoiding advanced algebra, this self-contained text is designed for advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students in engineering. It is also suitable for researchers new to the field and pract

The first book focused entirely on the growing field of LGBTQ health research, this volume provides the necessary public health tools to teach about and study LGBTQ populations effectively. Over the last 30 years, the health needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Americans have become increasingly recognized, in particular for the ways in which they are distinct from those typically assessed and addressed in society. Universities and researchers are paying greater attention to LGBTQ public health issues and how they might adapt existing methods to research marginalized communities, but—until now—there has been no authoritative resource to guide their education or practic...
"This book provides a new, interdisciplinary guide to effective behavioral and social science interventions to prevent HIV/AIDS. It aims to strengthen the fight against HIV/AIDS by improving community resources to respond to the disease and its effects. The book both builds on and goes beyond the individually oriented interventions that have provided the first generation of AIDS prevention programs. It brings together both theoretical and practical contributions written by the most active, influential, and respected scholars in the field of HIV/AIDS behavioral prevention."--BOOK JACKET.
Growth, reproduction, and geographical distribution of plants are profoundly influenced by their physiological ecology: the interaction with the surrounding physical, chemical, and biological environments. This textbook highlights mechanisms that underlie plant physiological ecology at the levels of physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology. At the same time, the integrative power of physiological ecology is well suited to assess the costs, benefits, and consequences of modifying plants for human needs and to evaluate the role of plants in natural and managed ecosystems. Plant Physiological Ecology, Third Edition is significantly updated, with many full color illustrations,...
