Book Chapter Kajian Wilayah Lahan Basah Kota Banjarmasin
di kalangan mahasiswa yang memperdalam ilmunya di berbagai bidang ilmu, masih terdapat kesulitan dan kurangnya book chapter yang dapat menambah dan memperluas ilmunya. Tulisan ini dimaksudkan hanya sebagai pendukung bagi mereka yang sedang meneliti permasalahan khususnya yang berkaitan dengan ilmu wilayah dan lingkungan lahan basah. Ditemukan bahwa jumlah buku yang beredar, terutama buku-buku yang dianggap cocok untuk profesi ahli geografi, khususnya untuk lingkungan lahan basah, sangat terbatas. Book chapter ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan informasi bagi mereka yang ingin memahami secara spesifik ilmu wilayah dan lingkungan lahan basah. Dan diharapkan buku ini bermanfaat tidak hanya bagi para pelajar dan mahasiswa, namun juga bagi mereka yang bidang keilmuannya lekat dengan ilmu wilayah dan lingkungan lahan basah.
GEOGRAFI EKONOMI: KAJIAN PADA LINGKUNGAN LAHAN BASAH
Lahan gambut merupakan lahan yang berasal dari bentukan gambut serta vegetasi yang ada di atasnya dengan wilayah yang bertopografi rendah, dan mempunyai curah hujan yang tinggi (Resdati et al., 2021). Lahan gambut merupakan bentangan lahan yang berasal dari dekomposisi tidak sempurna yang dihasilkan oleh vegetasi pepohonan yang tergenang air sehingga bersifat anaerob. Material tersebut menumpuk dalam waktu yang lama sehingga membentuk lapisan-lapisan (Lesmana, 2022). Lahan gambut juga mempunyai pelbagai kendala seperti pH yang sangat rendah, dan kandungan ketersediaan hara yang juga sangat rendah (Pratiwi et al., 2020).
