In this Special Issue on human health engineering, we invited submissions exploring recent contributions to the field of human health engineering, which is the technology used for monitoring the physical or mental health status of individuals in a variety of applications. Contributions focused on sensors, wearable hardware, algorithms, or integrated monitoring systems. We organized the different papers according to their contributions to the main aspects of the monitoring and control engineering scheme applied to human health applications, including papers focusing on measuring/sensing physiological variables, contributions describing research on the modelling of biological signals, papers highlighting health monitoring applications, and finally examples of control applications for human health. In comparison to biomedical engineering, the field of human health engineering also covers applications on healthy humans (e.g., sports, sleep, and stress) and thus not only contributes to develop technology for curing patients or supporting chronically ill people, but also more generally for disease prevention and optimizing human well-being.

Zusammenfassung: This book presents volume 3 of selected research papers presented at the fourth International Conference on Digital Technologies and Applications (ICDTA'24). Highlighting the latest innovations in digital technologies as: artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, embedded systems, chatbot, network technology, digital transformation and their applications in several areas as Industry 4.0, sustainability, energy transition, and healthcare, the book encourages and inspires researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to put these methods into practice
"I recommend that all members of the health community read this book to obtain a real snapshot of how the Intelligent Health System is being transformed via new technologies." Chris Landon MD FAAP, FCCP, FRSM Clinical Associate Professor USC Keck School of Medicine Technology Development Center Laboratory and Studio The "Intelligent Health Pavilion" as demonstrated at the annual HIMSS Conference by the Intelligent Health Association is the impetus for this book. This book documents the remarkable journey of "Intelligent Health System" and the adoption of Innovative technologies. Many showcased in real time on the trade show floor and now in this book: "The Rise of the Intelligent Health Syst...
The use of injectables, known as dermal fillers, is becoming ever more popular in aesthetic medicine. Full-face and full-body treatments using such fillers are increasingly substituting for various surgical techniques; not only do they provide immediate results at a lower cost, but they also avoid the use of general anesthesia and shorten the recovery period. In addition, dermal fillers can be successfully used for body remodeling, for example in patients with bow legs and those requiring breast remodeling. This book outlines the fundamental principles of the use of different fillers and injection techniques in the treatment of facial and body areas. An impressive collection of sequential color photographs illustrate the procedures step by step and demonstrate the results. The volume will be an invaluable tool for aesthetic doctors, practicing dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and all other physicians interested in the field of aesthetic medicine.

The next healthcare revolution will apply regenerative medicines using human cells and tissues. The aim of the regenerative medicine approach is to create biological therapies or substitutes in vitro for the replacement or restoration of tissue function in vivo lost through failure or disease. However, whilst science has revealed the potential, and early products have shown the power of such therapies, there is an immediate and long-term need for expertise with the necessary skills to face the engineering and life science challenges before the predicted benefits in human healthcare can be realized. Specifically, there is a need for the development of bioprocess technology for the successful ...
