What is autism really like? Academic literature often defines autism in a clinical, pathology-orientated way, whereas personal testimony can tell health and social care professionals how it feels. This book presents personal accounts from people whose lives have been touched by the day-to-day realities of autism: people with autism, professionals who interact with them, their parents and their siblings. The stories are mostly told ‘straight’, with brief introductory comments and a few reflections at the end of each chapter. As Autism Programme Leader at the University of Cumbria for the past 13 years, Steve Mee is uniquely placed to compile such a book. He has met, and befriended, many people with autism and their families. Through listening to their stories, he has had moments of profound challenge and insight. In this book, he shares these personal narratives and what he has learnt from them. Reading these accounts will enable professionals to develop a real understanding of what it is like to live with autism, in all its nuanced detail. This in turn can provide vital insights into the impact (both positive and negative) of professional interventions.
From my heart is my first collection of poetry. I've been writing it sense I was a teen but this is the first publication of my poetry. To top it off, it's not even all my poetry. There will be more book collections. There's something for just about everyone in my works but is full of poetry about love. This is a mature readers collection & none suitable for those under 18. I also have mini editorials throughout the book as background for the poetry. I also have included some pieces from my next book to come out real soon titled "First Draft". This book is how it is titled. It is unfinished works in the first to third drafting stage. It is mainly my Para-Perter fiction novel multiple series that I have been working on for three years now I would say. Hopefully I will have the first tale book for them real soon to introduce you to the story lines. Until then...Hope you enjoy "From My Heart".

This book is the second Edition to the first collection of poetry by I, Connie Lynne DeMar. It is not all of my poetry so there is still more to come. The Poetry deals with lose, love, inspiration and seeking enlightment. My poetry is inspired by my life journey and since my life has been filled with mainly pain and dispair as such my poetry tends to reflect that of course. It also reflects how I can never give up hope though either. Due to twin brothers I once knew whom were always looking out for me and The Aul Goddess whom continues to guide me I am always seeking for a better life. My writing is my therapy as I hope it can be for others. My wild mind is always weilding and as such cannot even list the projects I am already and currently working on. You see a bit of this in first draft which this book has a preview of. This book is also rated M for Mature due to Erotic preview of First Drafts that will be available very shortly. This book is also a 3.5 reading grade level.
