Los dos primeros capítulos están centrados en una explotación de la base de datos WoS, analizando la producción relativa a Servicios Sociales en Andalucía y sus áreas de intervención, así como en el análisis, mediante el uso de softwares de mapeo científico, de las palabras clave, las personas autoras y las instituciones a las que pertenecen. El tercer capítulo está centrado en el análisis del Sistema de Información Científica de Andalucía (SICA) en tres cuestiones principales: el tipo de producción, las redes de autoría, y la fuente de financiación.
