Zbornik ('Ponovni premislek o ustvarjanju znanja in vključevanje/izključevanje v plesnih skupnostih, Zbornik 32. Simpozija ICTM Študijske skupine za etnokoreologijo, 29. julij–5. avgust 2022, Brežice, Slovenija') vsebuje izbor prispevkov, predstavljenih na 32. simpoziju ICTM Študijske skupine za etnokoreologijo, osrednji mednarodni konferenci s področja etnokoreologije, plesne antropologije in sorodnih disciplin, ki je potekal v Brežicah od 25. julija do 5. avgusta 2022. Prispevki, predstavljeni na simpoziju in vključeni v zbornik, obravnavajo dve ključni temi: ponovni premislek o ustvarjanju znanja v raziskavah plesa in vključevanje/izključevanje v plesnih skupnostih. Poleg tega je poseben razdelek namenjen plakatom, predstavljenim na simpoziju, dodatek pa ponuja vpogled v utelešeno izkušnjo dogodka, čeprav so ga nekateri doživeli le prek spleta. Zbornik, ki obsega 49 prispevkov 53 avtorjev, sta izdala Mednarodni svet za glasbene in plesne tradicije (ICTMD) in Glasbenonarodopisni inštitut ZRC SAZU.

The aim of this study is to increase understanding of folk music within an historical, European framework, and to show the genre as a dynamic and changing art form. The book addresses a plethora of questions through its detailed examination of a wide range of music from vastly different national and cultural identities. It attempts to elucidate the connections between, and the varying development of, the music of peoples throughout Europe, firstly by examining the ways in which scholars of different ideological and artistic ambitions have collected, studied and performed folk music, then by investigating the relationship between folk and popular music. At the 22nd symposium of the ICTM (International Council of Traditional Music) Study Group on Ethnochoreology held in Szeged, Hungary, a topic of examination included Re-appraising Our Past, Moving into the Future: Research on Dance and Society. This book is a product of the symposium research topic. Participants of the meeting presented several new thoughts and ideas which provide guidelines and further encouragement for researchers in this field. Several presentations examined how information is collected, raising issues related to memory, intellectual versus kinesthetic modes of data collection, and the use of technology and the internet. A number of papers touched on the impact the research has on the subjects researched and vice versa. Another theme touched on the importance of a significant data pool and questions of extensive/exhaustive data versus data that comprises a selected sampling.
Focusing on visual approaches to performance in global cultural contexts, Perspectives in Motion explores the work of Adrienne L. Bulgaria and Serbia during socialism are outlined from many different points of view in this volume. Beyond local and personal trajectories the authors illuminate more general and comparative questions. Was there anything like a "socialist anthropology", common to all three countries? Did Soviet and/or Marxist influences, in the discipline and in society in general, penetrate so deeply as to form an unavoidable common denominator of anthropological practice? The answers turn out to be complex and subtle. While unifying ideological forces were very strong in the 1950s, diversity increased thereafter. Anthropology was entangled with national ideology in all three countries, but the evidence nonetheless calls for "polyphonic" interpretations.
