Officers and Soldiers of the French Imperial Guard
The fifth and final volume of this rich saga of the French Imperial Guard, André Jouineau presents the last troops in the Garde: the Horse Artillery, the Health Service, the crew trains, the artillery and artillery trains. A chapter about the headquarters staff closes the story of these glorious units. André Jouineau has been contributing to Histoire & Collections for more than 16 years. His uniforms plates, which are fully designed using data processing, have made him a pioneer in this field. In the "Officers and Soldiers Series" (OAS) he is also co-author of American Civil War (vols. 1 and 2), The Imperial Guard (vol. 1, 2, 3 and 4), and French Hussars (vol. 1, 2 and 3).
French Army 1940
This, the thirteenth book in the "Officers and Soldiers" collection, shows the French Army during the Phoney War and the French Campaign in May-June 1940. Continuing the work - started two years ago by Andr Jouineau in the two volumes dealing with the 1914-1918 armies - given over to an almost exhaustive survey of French Army uniforms and outfits during the two World Wars, this volume shows almost sixty color plates with no less than 300 uniforms, several dozen insignia and equipment illustrations. Particular attention has been paid to the description of the combat groups and the servants of the unit weapons. By capitulations each canton could recruit military units on behalf of a neighbouring state with their own officers and rules. The French Revolution encountered the loyalty of the Swiss in the service of the King of France. The infamous massacre of the Swiss Guard on 10 August 1792 in the Tuileries was the bloodiest. After that the Swiss regiments in the infantry of the Line were disbanded. France, reorganised Europe between 1793 and 1813, and transformed Switzerland which supplied, not always in the best conditions, its neighbour with troops of great worth to the Revolution and to the Empire. This book deals with the Swiss troops which served the Monarchy, the Republic, the Consulate, and the Empire and the Second Empire.

French Cuirassiers 1801-1815
The fourteenth work in the "Officers and Soldiers" collection is dedicated to the French Cuirassiers from the Consulate to the Second Restoration. Dating back to the Heavy Cavalry of the Ancient Régime, the first Cuirassier regiments were really created in France in 1801 during the Consulate. This new type of cavalry turned out to be one of the essential arms of Napoleon's tactics. First twelve, then fourteen regiments were created to constitute the shock troops of the Napoleonic Wars, together with the two regiments of Carabiniers already formed. For more than ten years, they took part in all Napoleon's campaigns: from Austerlitz on 2 December 1805 to Waterloo on 18 June 1815 and from the valleys of Spain to the distant Russian steppes.
