It starts with a small focus, a given campus, then gradually expands its view to the level of how academia as a whole interacts with civilization's broadest movements. The field of higher education studies has expanded dramatically in recent years. This book provides a unique and comprehensive guide, including an inventory of 199 centers, programs, and institutes in the field, a essay analyzing the emergence and current status of higher education as an area of study, and a listing of 191 journals focusing on higher education. Together, these three resources constitute the more comprehensive overview of the field available anywhere. Philip G. Altbach’s essay ‘Research and training in higher education’ discusses the origins of the field, the central issues of concern in the research literature, and trends among centers and institutes focusing on higher education worldwide. The inventory, which constitutes most of the book, provides information on the centers and programs, including the names of staff members, focus of work, and relevant addresses and websites. The expansion in the number of journals in the field is illustrated in the journals listing, which provides information about editors, substantive focus, and addresses of journals throughout the world. This book is a unique resources and a benchmark for an emerging field.

The information contained herein will inform IR practitioners, senior level institution officials, and higher education scholars. With a focus on building the capacity of the IR profession, this book’s primary audiences include senior leaders who wish to introduce or strengthen their understanding for effective decision support and staff members who are currently in decision support units and those who wish to serve in this capacity. However, this book also offers detail on the decision support function to higher education scholars who seek to better address how data can inform policy and planning in higher education. Through a broad discussion about the roles and skills of the practitioners, this book will also enumerate the ways in which decision support practitioners can be valued contributors in shaping the future decisions and direction of specific institutions and higher education broadly.

Until recently, Australia and Latin America were considered irrelevant to one another. The prevailing perception in Australia had been that Latin America was too remote, disconnected, and politically irrelevant to warrant serious scholarly or public attention. In recent years, this perception has rapidly changed, with Australian universities seeking to attract Latin American students, new diplomatic relations emerging, investment in mining and other business sectors expanding, and a growing fascination in Australia with Latin American food, music, dance and other forms of popular culture. These rapid developments can only properly be understood within the context of broader global transformations underway, including shifts in power relations between the 'Global North' and 'Global South', the rise of key Latin American economies, major technological developments, and ever-increasing global interconnectivity. This pioneering interdisciplinary book ventures into the new space of Australian-Latin American relations, exploring multiple dimensions of the rapidly changing landscape within a global context.

This is a definitive critical edition of the holograph manuscript (1639) of Calderón’s comedy. This volume traces the textual history of the play and lists variants from all known editions printed in or immediately after Calderón’s lifetime; it also gives a brief account of editions printed up to the end of the eighteenth century. Two sets of notes are provided: one listing and discussing all the emendations, additions and deletions made by Calderón in the course of the composition of the play; and the other offering clarification of words and allusions in the text which might cause difficulty for the modern reader.
