Kant’s Theory of Value
In explicit form, Kant does not speak that much about values or goods. The reason for this is obvious: the concepts of ‘values’ and ‘goods’ are part of the eudaimonistic tradition, and he famously criticizes eudaimonism for its flawed ‘material’ approach to ethics. But he uses, on several occasions, the traditional teleological language of goods and values. Especially in the Groundwork and the Critique of Practical Reason, Kant develops crucial points on this conceptual basis. Furthermore, he implicitly discusses issues of conditional and unconditional values, subjective and objective values, aesthetic or economic values etc. In recent Kant scholarship, there has been a controversy on the question how moral and nonmoral values are related in Kant’s account of human dignity. This leads to the more fundamental problem if Kant should be seen as a prescriptvist (antirealist) or as subscribing to a more objective rational agency account of goods. This issue and several further questions are addressed in this volume.
Minimalism and sensuality
Peter Kulka is a major German architect. His buildings have been characteristically succinct and minimalist. This book accompanies the show of his work in the Deutsches Architektur Museum in Frankfurt am Main from late 2005 to early 2006.

Der Band bietet eine systematische Einführung in die Gender Studies, Themen sind u.a. die Geschlechtergeschichte seit 1800, einschlägige Theorieansätze (Écriture féminine, Foucault, Butler), feministische Debatten bis zur Gegenwart (#MeToo) sowie angrenzende Felder (Queer, Men’s Studies, Postcolonial Studies, Film Studies). Zudem geht es um literatur- und kulturwissenschaftliche Lektüreverfahren sowie um Erinnerungskulturen, Kanondebatten, Schule und Didaktik, Arbeit und Ökonomie.
Queertheoretische Perspektiven auf Bildung
Der Band knüpft an die queertheoretischen Infragestellungen der zweigeschlechtlichen Ordnung an. Im Kontext der Vielfältigkeit geschlechtlicher und sexueller Identitäten sind Prozesse von Bildung, Erziehung und Sozialisation im Spannungsfeld von Normalisierung und Widerständigkeit gegenüber heteronormativen Identifizierungen der Geschlechter zu denken. Wie findet sich die Wirklichkeit queerer Geschlechterverhältnisse in pädagogischer Theorie und Praxis wieder und wie sind gendersensible Bildungskonzepte so zu erweitern, dass sie die Veruneindeutigung von Geschlecht zulassen?
Gender and Language Learning
Although Gender Studies have found their way into most domains of academic research and teaching, they are not directly in the spotlight of foreign language teaching pedagogy and research. However, teachers are confronted with gender issues in the language classroom everyday. By the use of language alone, they construct or deconstruct gender roles; with the choice of topics they shape gender identities in the classroom; and their ways of approaching pupils clearly mirrors their gender sensitivity. The book "Gender and Language Learning" aims at raising awareness towards gender issues in different areas of foreign language teaching and learning. The primary objective of the book is to spark university students', trainee teachers' and in-service teachers' analysis and reflection of gender relations in the foreign language learning and teaching section.
Gendered Configurations of Humans and Machines
In numerous fields of science, work, and everyday life, humans and machines have been increasingly entangled, developing an ever-growing toolbox of interactions. These entanglements affect our daily lives and pose possibilities as well as restrictions, chances as well as challenges. The contributions of this volume tackle related issues by adopting a highly interdisciplinary perspective. How do digitalization and artificial intelligence affect gender relations? How can intersectionality be newly understood in an increasingly internationally networked world? This volume is a collection of contributions deriving from the “Interdisciplinary Conference on the Relations of Humans, Machines and Gender” which took place in Braunschweig (October 16–19, 2019). It also includes the keynotes given by Cecile Crutzen, Galit Wellner and Helen Verran.
