"Remedial Sketches" is a collection of my favorite pages from my sketchbooks, many of which I've never shown before. I've compiled them in a way that shows the variety of styles and methods that I use when exploring each subject. To me, sketchbooks are the most intimate of all art forms because the drawings inside are not usually made to be seen by other people. Through this engaging book you get to take an intimate tour through my sketchbooks, and mind.

"Max paused and bent his head at an angle to get a better look. That was wine, a leak coming from one of the vats, not much, a dribble but definitely a leak wending its way across the slightly sloping floor of the cellar into the gutter running down the middle. He walked briskly towards it then stopped, catching his breath. The shiny black shoes stuck out foolishly into the alley, just below the blue overalls. Pierre Berton, a youngish man with sandy hair lay on his side with a sad expression on his face. The red stream gently seeping across the cellar floor was not wine". This macabre discovery in a wine cellar in south-west France is the beginning, for Max Christian, winemaker extraordinary, of a chase to uncover a huge network of wine fraud with worldwide tentacles... The pursuit takes him to Provence, London, Italy and California with the increasing feeling that he is gradually turning from the hunter into the hunted. But, in that case, who are the hunters ? Written by an insider, "Red Stream" is an amazing thriller that perfectly takes advantage of its unusual background. Highly recommended for everyone, a must have for all wine lovers !
"Immunopharmacology" , why not "pharmacoimmunology"? Professor H. O. Schild University College London, 1962 An intact immune response is essential for survival, as is evidenced by the various innate immune deficiency syndromes and by the emergence of the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) as a pandemic during the last decade. Substances which stimulate the immune response might contribute to the therapy of AIDS and its precursor, AIDS-related syndrome, as well as of other clinical conditions in which immune responses can be diminished, such as carcinoma and infections. In other circumstances, an intact or heightened immune response may pose clinical problems; hence there is need to suppress, or diminish, components of the immune response. For instance, it is necessary to impair cellular immunity in order to ensure lasting acceptance of heterografts and it is already established that agents effective in transplantation are therapeutically effective in an range of autoimmune diseases. More recently, experimental studies have indicated that aberrant manifestations of humoral immunity, as in allergies, may also be amenable to pharmacological intervention.

Examining the notion, nature, and extent of consent in both commercial arbitration and investment arbitration, this book provides practitioners and academics with a thorough, case-related analysis of an issue which raises many questions. Whilst considering the evolution of arbitration and its consensual nature - enlargement of the parties' freedom to consent to arbitration, and development from commercial arbitration to investment arbitration - it addresses important theoretical questions to offer practical solutions. These include: how consent to arbitrate is expressed and when mutual consent to arbitration is reached; which law shall govern the arbitration agreement or, more particularly, ...
