Where does the wind go, the breeze, teasing, and slow, as it snakes through forest trees, as it kisses the calm open sea, as strays across blue skies. does it carry along my sighs, when it entered my loving heart, tearing it completely apart. When it brought your love to me, on a swaying, erotic breeze?

God's Warrior

Fellow priests called his ministry "just short of a miracle." A superior castigated him as "an adventurer," Apaches and migrant Mexicans claimed him "one of us." To his fellow soldiers he was "a man's man." Of himself he chuckled, "I've been in mischief all my life." He was Father Albert Braun, OFM, in turn mule-headed, explosive, or penitent. Vigorously outspoken, he once charged a group of august bishops to "get off your butts and out among the people." His sense of duty was profound, his humor crusty. He arrived in New Mexico as missionary to the Mescalero Apaches just after Pancho Villa's raid, was a highly decorated chaplain in both World Wars, and after World War II he participated in ...

My chosen name is Balticbard. I am an artist, writer, and poet. This is my book of poems: Heartsongs. From a very young age, I lived within myself; in a magical world of my own making. I filled my magic world with stories of Edgar Allen Poe, 19th century romantic poetry, Greek myth, horror movies, Arthurian legends, bible stories, sitcoms from the sixties, pre-Raphealite painting, surrealism, Jesus Christ, music from the sixties, and old stories, and legends from the old country that my mother, and grandmother told me as I was growing up. In time I encountered the greatest blessing that my wondrous God has given me; the pagans. It was the pagan source that helped me unlock the door to my world of magic, which I had thought lost to me. I finally found my inner source, and my words of magic came forth in my poetry. So finally I say thanks to my God, and to all my pagan friends for my inspiration. -Balticbard

"Established in 1964, the federal Legal Services Program (later, Corporation) served a vast group of Americans desperately in need of legal counsel: the poor. At the program's zenith in 1981, more than 1,450 offices employing six thousand attorneys and three thousand paralegals worked to aid those who could not afford private attorneys. In Rationing Justice, Kris Shepard looks at this pioneering program's effect on the Deep South."--BOOK JACKET.
