Publikace se věnuje rozvoji vybraných částí Prahy v souvislosti s proměnou role sportu a tělovýchovy. Sleduje, jak se postupně měnila obliba různých typů pohybových aktivit ve společnosti 19. a 20. století a v návaznosti na to také umístění a podoba sportovišť a sportovních staveb v rámci vybraných pražských lokalit, z nichž se díky rostoucímu společenskému významu tělovýchovy a posléze také popularity sportu stala specifická místa paměti.
