Beyond the Usability Lab

Usability testing and user experience research typically take place in a controlled lab with small groups. While this type of testing is essential to user experience design, more companies are also looking to test large sample sizes to be able compare data according to specific user populations and see how their experiences differ across user groups. But few usability professionals have experience in setting up these studies, analyzing the data, and presenting it in effective ways. Online usability testing offers the solution by allowing testers to elicit feedback simultaneously from 1,000s of users. Beyond the Usability Lab offers tried and tested methodologies for conducting online usabili...

His work reveals beauty, mystery, and a sense of adventure. Part photography retrospective and part personal memoir, this book paints a full picture of the life of a globe-trekking photographer over the past half century.

An orphaned teenager moves in with his cocktail-waitress aunt in 1950s Palm Springs, in a novel with “its full share of hilarious, and touching, moments” (Booklist). “Swinging from poignant drama to edgy satire to farce, Albert’s moving and funny first novel pairs an awkward orphaned adolescent immersed in 1950s rock ’n’ roll and an unconventional ‘kept’ woman. Enid’s rent and car are provided gr...

After running away from home, he is assaulted on the street and left mute by his assailants, only to be nursed back to health by the Indians of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Soon he’s on the road with his new family, earning his keep by writing letters for Buffalo Bill. ...
