Rialto Ripples
"Rialto Ripples" is George Gershwin's first published instrumental and his only piano rag. It has all the hallmarks of Gershwin's piano style merging ragtime with a piano novelty number. It's fun, it's delightful, it's a toe-tapper, and smile-maker. This wonderful rag is accessible to intermediate level pianists but will attract advanced players, too. A great addition to recital and encore lists!
Fright Time
With pieces about bats, Frankenstein, ghosts, invaders of the night, and other enticing characters, there's no doubt about the intended season for this collection. Imaginations will soar while students are playing these 'frightful' solos. There is substance in each; teachers will not object to the study time spent on them. They are cleverly written, with good rhythmic interest. And some of them will work as recital pieces long after Halloween is past.
