Computational Processing of the Portuguese Language
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Workshop on Computational Processing of the Portuguese Language, PROPOR 2014, held in Sao Carlos, Brazil, in October 2014. The 14 full papers and 19 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 63 submissions. Advances in Intelligent Data Analysis XV
This book constitutes the refereed conference proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Intelligent Data Analysis, which was held in October 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. The 36 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 75 submissions. The traditional focus of the IDA symposium series is on end-to-end intelligent support for data analysis. The symposium aims to provide a forum for inspiring research contributions that might be considered preliminary in other leading conferences and journals, but that have a potentially dramatic impact.
Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery in Databases
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the joint conference on Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery in Databases: ECML PKDD 2010, held in Barcelona, Spain, in September 2010. The 120 revised full papers presented in three volumes, together with 12 demos (out of 24 submitted demos), were carefully reviewed and selected from 658 paper submissions. In addition, 7 ML and 7 DM papers were distinguished by the program chairs on the basis of their exceptional scientific quality and high impact on the field. The conference intends to provide an international forum for the discussion of the latest high quality research results in all areas related to machine learning and knowledge discovery in databases. A topic widely explored from both ML and DM perspectives was graphs, with motivations ranging from molecular chemistry to social networks.
Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery in Databases
The three volume set LNAI 9284, 9285, and 9286 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the European Conference on Machine Learning and Knowledge Discovery in Databases, ECML PKDD 2015, held in Porto, Portugal, in September 2015. The 131 papers presented in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 483 submissions. These include 89 research papers, 11 industrial papers, 14 nectar papers, and 17 demo papers. They were organized in topical sections named: classification, regression and supervised learning; clustering and unsupervised learning; data preprocessing; data streams and online learning; deep learning; distance and metric learning; large scale learning and big data; matrix and tensor analysis; pattern and sequence mining; preference learning and label ranking; probabilistic, statistical, and graphical approaches; rich data; and social and graphs. Part III is structured in industrial track, nectar track, and demo track.
Student Spaces
There are many factors that go into designing successful schools. There is probably no single factor more important than considering the primary occupants of the buildings: students. Student Spaces explores K- 12 schools from all over the world that incorporate areas that students find both beneficial and enjoyable. While books have long featured school designs that provide commentary by adults, this book provides comments from students who have utilized the spaces and enjoyed the benefits first-hand. Having spent over twenty five years designing k-12 schools, I am excited about the examples we have put together. Probably the most common response I have received from those that have seen a draft of this e-book is "Why didn't I get to go to a school like that?"
