Communication and Indian Agriculture examines the role of communication in fostering development in Indian agriculture, focusing on research processes, theory, context and providing current examples of knowledge and useful research methods, as well as addressing future research directions in agricultural communication. Twenty-two researchers present an up-to-date discussion of issues, summarize current knowledge on the topic and demonstrate how research and theory can advance our understanding of the dynamics involved, thus permitting practical interventions in order to create positive social change. Specific chapters address education and training for development, new directions in theory and methods, problems in leadership with a strategy for improvement, an in-depth study of communication in the diffusion of dairy farming technology, and a look at agricultural journalism.
