A Directory of Multicultural and Immigrant Service Organizations in British Columbia
This directory contains contact lists from provincial ministries who are attempting to improve the quality of government services to ethnocultural communities. It is organized into four categories which reflect the different functions and client groups on the organizations: ethnocultural organizations; immigrant service agencies and organizations; multicultural organizations; and multicultural and ethnospecific media. It also includes a list of members of the Advisory Council on Multiculturalism and the Interministerial Committee on Multiculturalism.
Report on Multiculturalism, Government of British Columbia, 1996-97
This report documents progress toward the goals of multiculturalism in British Columbia, as required by the provincial Multiculturalism Act. The first section is the report of the Ministry Responsible for Multiculturalism, a branch that works in partnership with other government agencies, institutions, and community organizations to promote the goals and objectives of the Act. The second section is the annual report from the Advisory Council on Multiculturalism, a body charged with the responsibility of developing advice to the Ministry on issues respecting multiculturalism. The third and fourth sections are reports from provincial government ministries and Crown corporations on initiatives in multiculturalism and anti-racism.
