The Ministry mission is to manage & conserve British Columbia forest & range resources in a manner that balances economic, ecological, & social benefits. This report begins with a ministerial overview, an assessment of the challenges & opportunities it faces, and a review of the state of the provincial forest sector. It then lists the Ministry's strategic goals and summarizes initiatives undertaken to achieve those goals in such areas as forest management & conservation, forest business development, and staff training. Goals for the coming year are also outlined. The final section contains financial & statistical tables. Appendices include a detailed profile of the Ministry & its divisions.
The Ministry's mission is to: promote multiculturalism & the elimination of racism in British Columbian society; achieve the social & economic integration of immigrants to British Columbia; and determine fiscal & social responsibility of the governments of Canada & British Columbia with regard to immigration. This plan document begins with an overview of the Ministry's strategic context, the benefits of multiculturalism & immigration, and Ministry core values. It then examines the environment in which the Ministry operates, including trends in immigration & racism and public attitudes toward multiculturalism. After a short overview of Ministry programs, the plan presents Ministry objectives, strategies, and performance measures under five goals. This is followed by a resources & financial plan and a list of links to provincial priorities. Appendices include three-year performance targets for each goal, an organization chart, and a list of legislation for which the Ministry is responsible.
