The “great dichotomy” between left and right has been a feature of pluralist politics since its emergence in modern times. This book presents the refereed proceedings of the 7th Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence, EPIA'95, held in Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, in October 1995. Population aging and the associated burden of chronic diseases are one of the main challenges in public health worldwide.
