Methods and Techniques of Signal Processing in Physical Measurements
This book discusses selected issues of modern electrical metrology in the fields of sensor technology, signal processing and measurement systems, addressing theoretical problems and applications regarding measurements in electrical engineering, mechanics, telecommunications, medicine and geology, as well as in the aviation and transport industries. It presents selected papers from the XXII International Seminar of Metrology “Methods and Techniques of Signal Processing in Physical Measurements” (MSM2018) held in Rzeszów-Arłamów, Poland on September 17–20, 2018. The conference was organized by the Rzeszow University of Technology, Department of Metrology and Diagnostic Systems (Poland) and Lviv Polytechnic National University, Department of Information Measuring Technology (Ukraine). The book provides researchers and practitioners with insights into the state of the art in these areas, and also serves as a source of new ideas for further development and cooperation.

Smart Energy Research. At the Crossroads of Engineering, Economics, and Computer Science
This volume consists of revised selected papers presented at the 3rd and 4th International Conference on Smart Energy Research, SmartER Europe 2016 and 2017, held in Essen, Germany, in February 2016 and 2017. The 13 full papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 25 submissions. The papers discuss recent advances and experiences in building and using new IT-based solutions for Smart Grids and Smart Markets combining the knowledge of different disciplines such as engineering, business management and economics as well as computer science. They reflect the versatility and the complexity of the transformation process in the energy sector and also show the great need for research that is required to achieve the high targets for a digitized and sustainable energy landscape.
The Frank Family History
Peter Daniel Franck was born in Germany in 1773. He married Maria Margaretha Katherine Stibitz and they were the parents of six children. Several of their children came to America after their deaths and settled in Iowa and Minnesota. Information on many of their descendants both in America and Germany is given in this volume. Descendants now live in Iowa, Minnesota, California, Illinois, and elsewhere.
