The New Cosmology
The papers in this volume examine the recent revolutionary discoveries in cosmology and astronomy, and their theoretical interpretation. The observational evidence for an accelerating universe, and an earlier decelerating phase, is brought up to date with the newest results for the most distant and oldest Type Ia supernovae. The data from the WMAP satellite provide, for the first time, true precision cosmology: reliable results for the age of the universe, its geometry, its evolution over the past 13.7 billion years, and many other features, including the proportions of ordinary matter, dark matter, and dark energy. Other papers in this volume describe the information obtained with 21st century astronomical techniques, including gravitational lensing, studies across the electromagnetic spectrum with ground-based and NASA observatories, and surveys of millions of galaxies. The results are interpreted by leading theorists using both accepted and exotic theories, including inflation and superstring theory.
Neutrino Physics and Astrophysics
The scientific program of these important proceedings was arranged to cover most of the field of neutrino physics. In light of the rapid growth of interest stimulated by new interesting results from the field, more than half of the papers presented here are related to the neutrino mass and oscillations, including atmospheric and solar neutrino studies. Neutrino mass and oscillations could imply the existence of a mass scale many orders of magnitudes higher than presented in current physics and will probably guide scientists beyond the standard model of particle physics.

The Emergence of Cosmic Structure
This conference brought together experts on the manner in which structure emerged from chaos in the early universe. Theoreticians and experimentalists discussed how current and future data can shed light on the manner in which structural constraints were introduced into the early universe and how clues to those constraints can be obtained from the cosmic microwave background, the emergence of the first stars, and the development of galaxies and clusters of galaxies. Almost two dozen invited speakers presented reviews of their areas of expertise. Topics include: The Nature of Dark Matter; The Intergalactic and Intracluster Medium; The Origins of Structure; High-Redshift Structure; Low-Redshift Structure; Future Prospects; Structure in the Cosmic Microwave Background; The First Stars, Reionization, and Induced Structure.
Particles and Fields
The Division of Particles and Fields of the Mexican Physical Society (DPF-MPS) organized the X Mexican School of Particles and Fields (X MSPF). This meeting was dedicated to celebrate the 60th birthdays of Augusto Garcia and Arnulfo Zepeda, pioneers of this field in Latin America. The scientific program of the X MSPF included 70 review lectures on the most recent advances in high energy physics: experiment, theory, and phenomenology. Leading lecturers from more than ten countries presented their material at plenary sessions. Contributed papers were presented in a poster session. The topics covered during the X MSPF are the following: Precision tests of the standard model, QCD, neutrino physics, SUSY, experimental high energy physics, new physics and effective theories, quantum field theory, strings, quantum gravity, and cosmology.
