The Court of Appeals has an interesting history, in that the court was created and dissolved by statute twice before the current court came to stay. Like the starting and stopping of the court itself, the writing of this book has been intermittent over the years. Jeannie Towle Mellinger actually signed off on her portion in 1988, and Molly Wingate stepped forward to bring the manuscript up to date in 2004. Now it is 2008, and everyone involved is thrilled to see the culmination of all those years of work.We hope you enjoy this look at not only the workings of Colorado's intermediate court of appeals, but also the human side of the court's judges and staff members over the years. Each of the three iterations of the court has helped shape Colorado into the energetic and compelling state it is today.
