Föderale Konstitutionalisierung mit der Konventsmethode
Was bleibt vom Konvent als Methode? Ausgehend von der schwer greifbaren Wirkung des Zukunftskonvents von Brüssel geht das vorliegende Buch der Frage nach, was die EU von der Konventsmethode erwarten kann. Dazu wird der Brüsseler Konvent als Bestandteil eines föderalen Konstitutionalisierungsprozesses charakterisiert und mit dem Prototyp - dem US-Verfassungskonvent von Philadelphia - verglichen. Die vorliegende Arbeit nimmt damit erstmals einen strukturierten Vergleich der Konvente von Philadelphia (1787) und Brüssel (2002/03) aus politiktheoretischer Perspektive vor.
