Daniel

The 16th volume in the popular Bible study series leads readers through a penetrating study of the Book of Daniel using the biblical text itself and the Church's own guidelines for understanding the Bible. Ample notes accompany each page, providing fresh insights by renowned Bible teachers Scott Hahn and Curtis Mitch, as well as time-tested interpretations from the Fathers of the Church. They provide rich historical, cultural, geographical or theological information pertinent to the Old Testament book - information that bridges the distance between the biblical world and our own. It also includes Topical Essays, Word Studies and Charts. The Topical Essays explore the major themes of Daniel, often relating them to the teachings of the Church. The Word Studies explain the background to important Bible terms, while the Charts summarize crucial biblical information "at a glance".

The Emerging Daniel Company is a unique book for the times we are in. It has a present Word that contains spiritual substance and life. This book is not for the complacent, who desire the status quo. It is for those described in Daniel 11:32, 33, "...but the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. And those of the people who understand shall instruct many". This book challenges leadership to go beyond our current spiritual maturity, unity and purity. Understanding the times and what to do to help others transition into the new thing that the Lord is doing. Our prayer is that the Spirit of Understanding be imparted and released in your life as you read and stud...

Daniel and the Trees of Eden

Barely two months after rescuing Raylin in the Abyss, the final quest begins. The mission? Seal the Spirit of the Age into the Serpent to usher in an era of spiritual awakening. But this will require a battle in the heart of Babylon where the Enemy’s power is greatest. To prepare, Daniel and his friends must first navigate a treacherous path through Babylon itself to find the Gates of Eden—and beyond, the Tree of Purity. The road is plagued with scores of monstrous demons, and Eden isn't without challenges of its own. A trial awaits within the fabled garden, one that will either purify a growing darkness within the group … or prove its downfall. Should they triumph, further tribulation...

At the core of Vodou is possession, the thing that frightens many uninformed Westerners and conjures visions of demonic, evil stuff. This is not what I experienced practising Vodou in Haiti. To be filled with the Spirit, to speak in tongues, to channel, to experience a rapture, vision or epiphany of some kind. These are all possessions, when we are temporarily displaced and Spirit moves in. In Vodou this can be quite dramatic but is in no way demonic. To experience up close and personal a Light Being taking you by the hand and talking to you about how you are and what maybe a good thing for you to do is absolutely mind blowing.

Ezekiel, Daniel

The books of Ezekiel and Daniel provide some of the most memorable stories and images of the Old Testament. Ezekiel, the wild prophet of the Babylonian exile, gave us images of the blazing wheeled throne of God leaving Jerusalem and the valley of dry bones that only God could restore to life. Struggling to prove his authenticity as a prophet, Ezekiel gives hard messages to the people of Israel that predict the fall of Jerusalem and punishment of all the nations. At the heart of the fiery speech and actions, however, is someone trying to explain how Jerusalem could fall and Israel could lose the Promised Land. In the end, there can be no mistake about his message of God's power and the cost o...
