The proposed book investigates brain asymmetry from the perspective of functional neural systems theory, a foundational approach for the topic. There is currently no such book available on the market and there is a need for a neuroscience book, with a focus on the functional asymmetry of these two integrated and dynamic brains using historical and modern clinical and experimental research findings with the field. The book provides evidence from multiple methodologies, including clinical lesion studies, brain stimulation, and modern imaging techniques. The author has successfully used the book in doctoral and advances undergraduate courses on neuroscience and neuropsychology. It has also been used to teach a course on the biological basis of behavior and could be used in a variety of contexts and courses.

The Brontës of Haworth: Yorkshire's Literary Giants - Their Lives, Works, Influences and Inspirations has been designed by a retired teacher of English as a general, overall guide and reference for use by highschool teachers, college and university professors, students and Brontë enthusiasts The functional layout of the book in three parts allows readers and researchers to obtain a quick, thumbnail sketch of the lives of each of the Brontës, each of their seven major adult works, and the various influence and inspirations which affected their short, tragic lives and led them into careers in writing. Each chapter in each section has been designed so that the brief background sketches of their lives and works can be read as an entity in itself, and from there, readers can choose which area they would like to pursue further through additional studies and research. The amount of research material on the Brontës is overwhelming, and it was the author's intention to briefly sort out various areas of potential interest for those just being introduced to this great family of English writers.

In 1850 and again in 1860, the U.S. government carried out a census of slave owners and their property. Jack F. Cox's transcription of the 1850 slave owners' census is arranged in alphabetical order according to the surname of the slave owner and gives his/her full name, number of slaves owned, and the county of residence. It may be just possible that more persons with slave ancestors will be able to trace them via other records (property records, for example) pertaining to the 37,000 slave owners enumerated in this new volume.
