This is a conceptual work with a tragic underlying narrative: the disappearance of the teenager. The project tends to question our relationship towards absence and loss and the need of physicality in the process of acceptance and closure. The book combines materials from different sources, such as family archives, reproductions of police and psychic files as well as photographs by Virginie Rebetez. This two year project is also a a reflection on the medium of photography. The status of each image is constantly shifting, offering new meaning and context to this open case. Delphine Bedel, the editor and publisher, and Virginie Rebetez worked together 6 months on this publication, with great attention details and to the narrative structure of the book. The roles of images and their haptic qualities keep shifting, family archives and memories becomes first police evidence and later tactile objets for the mediums and the artist, a fragmented representation of reality, a transformation process that Delphine calls 'the haptic image'.

"An experimental work that sits at the cross section of an artists' project and historical document, drawing from archival images borne out of the Ovulars, a series of darkroom/photography workshops held in various feminist & lesbian separatist communes of the early 80s across the Pacific Northwest. Notes on Fundamental Joy holds up the work of JEB, Clytia Fuller, Tee Corinne, Ruth Mountaingrove, Katie Niles, Carol Osmer, Honey Lee Cottrell, and others, documenting a community of women/womyn in their collective embrace of the 'back to the land' movement. Through the lens of pervasive image-making--women holding cameras, women taking pictures of women--the project considers the radical potential of social and political optimism predicated on the absence of men.The photographs are accompanied by a running essay from Winant, stretched across the bottom of each page as if a low horizon line, considering the images' collective power in picturing intimacy and pleasure. The self-reflexive text contends with the pull Winant feels towards these works--for their unabashedness and beauty--and considers how the images may have life and meaning outside of the subculture that produced them."--
In the context of a revived interest in the medium of radio, the collective and self-organized project LapTopRadio explored the possibilities and the limits of an irregularly, unexpectedly and sporadically broadcasting internet radio in the perspective of fine arts with a specific approach-the studio followed the participants, musicians and events, and not the other way round. It thereby created a new basis with a as yet hardly known potential, which the project intended to probe. This was made possible thanks to the co-operation of all the participants and co-producers, speakers, interviewers and authors of the texts published here.
