Spectrum Sharing

Combines the latest trends in spectrum sharing, both from a research and a standards/regulation/experimental standpoint Written by noted professionals from academia, industry, and research labs, this unique book provides a comprehensive treatment of the principles and architectures for spectrum sharing in order to help with the existing and future spectrum crunch issues. It presents readers with the most current standardization trends, including CEPT / CEE, eLSA, CBRS, MulteFire, LTE-Unlicensed (LTE-U), LTE WLAN integration with Internet Protocol security tunnel (LWIP), and LTE/Wi-Fi aggregation (LWA), and offers substantial trials and experimental results, as well as system-level performanc...

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Latent Variable Analysis and Signal Separation, LVA/ICA 2010, held in St. Malo, France, in September 2010. The 25 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from over hundred submissions. The papers collected in this volume demonstrate that the research activity in the field continues to gather theoreticians and practitioners, with contributions ranging range from abstract concepts to the most concrete and applicable questions and considerations. Speech and audio, as well as biomedical applications, continue to carry the mass of the considered applications. Unsurprisingly the concepts of sparsity and non-negativity, as well as tensor decompositions, have become predominant, reflecting the strongactivity on these themes in signal and image processing at large.

In this thesis channel estimation techniques for LTE downlink named Least Square, Minimum Mean Square error and Maximum Likelihood estimation techniques are studied for the pilot symbol based channel estimation. In addition to this the performances of these three channel estimation techniques were also studied by introducing averaging, interpolation and hybrid methods. This work also investigates the complexity of the channel estimation techniques in terms of the number of complex multiplications and by varying the FFT size and number of CP(cyclic prefix). furthermore, the effect of varying the number of antennas at the transmitter and receiver ends, where 2 x 2 and 4 x 4 antenna arrangements are considered as a case studies. The performance of these channel estimation techniques is also studied for EVA standard channel model in LTE. The considered channel model is EVA standard channel model with Doppler shift of 300HZ.

High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) is a collection of two mobile telephony protocols, High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA). Allowing networks based on the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System to achieve data rates of several megabits per second, these powerful protocols are ideal for applications

Ultra-Reliable and Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) Theory and Practice

Ultra-Reliable and Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) Theory and Practice Comprehensive resource presenting important recent advances in wireless communications for URLLC services, including device-to-device communication, multi-connectivity, and more Ultra-Reliable and Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) Theory and Practice discusses the typical scenarios, possible solutions, and state-of-the-art techniques that enable URLLC in different perspectives from the physical layer to higher-level approaches, aiming to tackle URLLC’s challenges with both theoretical and practical approaches, which bridges the lacuna between theory and practice. With long-term contributions to the development of fu...

Numerical Linear Algebra, Digital Signal Processing and Parallel Algorithms

Numerical linear algebra, digital signal processing, and parallel algorithms are three disciplines with a great deal of activity in the last few years. The interaction between them has been growing to a level that merits an Advanced Study Institute dedicated to the three areas together. This volume gives an account of the main results in this interdisciplinary field. The following topics emerged as major themes of the meeting: - Singular value and eigenvalue decompositions, including applications, - Toeplitz matrices, including special algorithms and architectures, - Recursive least squares in linear algebra, digital signal processing and control, - Updating and downdating techniques in linear algebra and signal processing, - Stability and sensitivity analysis of special recursive least squares problems, - Special architectures for linear algebra and signal processing. This book contains tutorials on these topics given by leading scientists in each of the three areas. A consider- able number of new research results are presented in contributed papers. The tutorials and papers will be of value to anyone interested in the three disciplines.
