In The Divine Dynamic, Jesuit priest John Surette has gathered together some of his essays and many of his sermons that have been inspired while living within this interface. It is his hope that the readers will be helped to travel beyond seeing themselves as economic, political, and religious people into also experiencing themselves as planetary people. Within this broader self-identity our efforts toward justice for Earth and its human community will be enhanced and will be seen as being one justice, not two. We will be invited into a more comprehensive and all-inclusive way of engaging with our sacred scriptures. We will also discover that the dynamics of Earth, and indeed of the whole Universe, are dynamics that are at work in our individual lives. These are examples of the many opportunities for our spirituality as we explore its planetary and cosmic path.
"The Holy Earth: Body of the Divine, returns us to a time before separation from the trees, plants, and animals of the Earth took place, a time in which the consciousness of non-human life could be known and felt. At the same time, it is a bridge to the future, a future in which our oneness with the Earth is no longer a concept but a living reality. This is a profound testimony of love and reverence for the holy Earth, and an awakener of souls for those who are ready to experience their oneness with all that is."--Page 4 of cover.

Eleanor Rae, co-author of Created in Her Image, weaves together three compelling topics of contemporary concern: women's identity, the environmental crisis, and the feminine divine. Women, the Earth, the Divine presents the case for rediscovering a "feminine principle" that is not the product of a patriarchal worldview. Rather, Rae derives it from the real experience of women - from the East as well as the West. Rae looks at the articulation of a feminine principle from the perspective of ecofeminism and in light of the contribution the religions of the world can make to the ecofeminist project. A Jungian and process theology perception of the complementarity of the sexes becomes the framewo...
