A Duke's Issue

The Duke of Dunmore is a friend, a confidante, and a highly respected nobleman... and he's keeping a secret that could endanger the woman he loves and the family he's held dear for so many years. Lady Lilianne Lambourne was once the talk of the ton, but after mourning her fallen fiance for so many years feels love has passed her by. Behind her warm and caring facade is the struggling strong woman who had been scarred by so many volatile moments of her past. Will the Duke's secrets forever change their futures or will this be her moment to stand and let her strength guide them both to happiness? Find out in the fourth and final book of the Lambourne Legacy series, A Duke's Issue.

The Cross of Sacrifice: Officers Who Died in the Service of British, Indian and East African Regiments and Corps, 1914-1919

A tremendous piece of research, conducted over ten years, in which are listed, in alphabetical order, the names of over 60,000 officers of the British Empire who died during the Great War, including nurses and female aid workers. Based on the CWGC Registers, the information provided includes not only that shown in ‘Officers Died' but also the place of burial or commemoration. The alphabetical listing means that looking up a name does not require prior knowledge of the regiment (as in ‘Officers Died') though this information is given, as well as cross-reference to the relevant page number in ‘Officers Died’.

Hear Us O Lord from Heaven Thy Dwelling Place

Seven stories and novellas by the author of Under the Volcano, a master of twentieth-century fiction. For fans of the novel Under the Volcano, this collection of stories—many of them published for the first time posthumously—provides great insight into the author’s genius. The stories range from heartfelt tragedy to exuberant triumph. In the novella “Through the Panama,” a burned-out, alcoholic writer tries to make sense of the literature that has kept him afloat while the pulse of his life grows harder to distinguish. In “The Forest Path to Spring,” a couple that has survived hell finds new life in the seclusion of a vast forest. And in “The Bravest Boat,” a young boy sends a message across the ocean to an unknown recipient. Together, these stories reveal a writer who traveled widely, observed keenly, and maintained an engrossing literary style that still reverberates today.
