This book presents limit theorems for nonlinear functionals of random fields with singular spectrum on the basis of various asymptotic expansions. The first chapter treats basic concepts of the spectral theory of random fields, some important examples of random processes and fields with singular spectrum, and Tauberian and Abelian theorems for covariance function of long-memory random fields. Chapter 2 is devoted to limit theorems for spherical averages of nonlinear transformations of Gaussian and chi-square random fields. Chapter 3 summarises some limit theorems for geometric type functionals of random fields. Limit theorems for the solutions of Burgers' equation with random data via parabolic and hyperbolic rescaling are demonstrated in Chapter 4. Lastly, Chapter 5 deals with some problems for statistical analysis of random fields with singular spectrum. Audience: This book will be of interest to mathematicians who use random fields in engineering or other applications.
In many areas of geophysics, geology, geochemistry, and mining, there is considerable interest in laboratory data on the physical properties of various types of rocks. Until recently, how ever, only the mechanical properties of rocks had been studied in detail. The last few years have seen a relatively large amount of study of the electrical properties of rock samples and a need to organize the results of these studies has arisen. In"Electrical Properties of Rocks,"* E. 1. Parkhomenko reviewed and cataloged studies of electrical resistivity and the dielectric constant in rocks. In the present work she covers other electrical phenomena which are observed to occur in rocks and minerals and rev...

The 32nd International Conference on High Energy Physics belongs to the Rochester Conference Series, and is the most important international conference in 2004 on high energy physics. The proceedings provide a comprehensive review on the recent developments in experimental and theoretical particle physics. The latest results on Top, Higgs search, CP violation, neutrino mixing, pentaquarks, heavy quark mesons and baryons, search for new particles and new phenomena, String theory, Extra dimension, Black hole and Lattice calculation are discussed extensively. The topics covered include not only those of main interest to the high energy physics community, but also recent research and future plan...
