Mediale Welten sind Konstruktionen, die zum einen Auskunft über Perspektiven auf die Welt geben. Zum anderen sind sie kulturelle und historische Speichermedien für Ideologien, Anthropologien sowie Denk- und Handlungslogiken. Mediale Welten geben damit ein implizites kulturelles Selbstverständnis wieder, das eine Kultur von sich oder anderen Kulturen präsentiert. Die Tagung fokussiert aus verschiedensten fachspezifischen Blickwinkeln (literatur- und medienwissenschaftlichen, sprachwissenschaftlichen, fachdidaktischen usw.) und methodischen Positionen heraus auf Konstruktionen, die das Selbst- und Fremdverständnis Österreichs transportieren. Erkennbar werden sollen wesentliche soziale, politische und kulturelle Kräfte, die in einem (möglichst) weiten historischen Rahmen zu reflektieren sind. Es geht um die Entdeckung und Erforschung von offenen und versteckten Zusammenhängen, Entwicklungen, Verbindungslinien im Ästhetischen wie im Gesellschaftlichen.

Die Filme der Jessica Hausner
Jessica Hausner (geb. 1972) zählt zu den renommiertesten Filmemacher_innen ihrer Zeit. Längst hat sich die Regisseurin und Drehbuchautorin auf internationalem Parkett verdient gemacht, ihr Name wird heute in einem Atemzug mit Regiedoyens wie Stanley Kubrick und Michael Haneke genannt. Ihre Filme wurden vielfach gelobt, zahlreiche Male prämiert und von Kritiker_innen aus aller Welt hinlänglich besprochen. Trotzdem wird man auf der Suche nach substanziellen Publikationen zu ihren Werken bislang kaum fündig. Ionic Interactions in Natural and Synthetic Macromolecules
This book is a comprehensive study of the subject of ionic interactions in macromolecules. The first parts of the book review and analyze the conventional treatments of fixed charges (e.g. in polyelectrolytes and polyampholytes), including screening and condensation by mobile ions. The interaction of ions with less polar sites on the macromolecule (e.g. amide bonds), and the origin of the lyotropic effects (focusing on binding versus condensation) will also be extensively addressed. The book also explores complex micellar organizations involving charged macromolecules (e.g. DNA) and low-molecular-weight ampholytes and strong protein associations. The resulting structures are relevant to a variety of functional biological systems and synthetic analogs.
