Handbook on bentonite-bonded moulding material
According to estimates, modern foundries in Germany, Europe and worldwide replace about 70 % of their lost moulds with moulds made of bentonite-bonded materials. The main mould components are quartz sand, bentonite and water. These components are compacted in one of the most productive procedures in the foundry. One of the main advantages of this moulding material system is the ability to restore the bonding power of most of the material. This ability creates a moulding material circulation system. This system and the use of mostly inorganic moulding materials make this creation of moulds the most environmentally friendly choice for the cast part production. Because of this circulation of moulding materials and specifically because of the bentonite/water bonding system, the preparation of moulds made from bentonite-bonded moulding materials is very different from making moulds and cores using materials with chemical binders. This manual describes the handling and preparation of bentonite-bonded moulding materials as well as the moulding material recovery and re-use after forming the cast part.

Der 3D-Film hat die Art, wie wir das Geschehen auf der Leinwand erleben, verändert. Einen Schritt weiter geht der stereoskopische Film, der nicht nur die Wahrnehmung der Zuschauer in neue Dimensionen führt, sondern auch die 3D-Filmproduktion revolutioniert. Die Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen „Konrad Wolf“ hat in einem interdisziplinären Filmprojekt Wirtschaft und Forschung zusammengebracht: Gemeinsam mit Profis der Filmbranche erarbeiteten Studenten und Absolventen Lösungsstrategien zu aktuellen technischen und ästhetischen Fragen der Stereoskopie und der s3D-Filmproduktion. Grundlage des Projekts bildete die wissenschaftliche Begleitung des s3D-Films „The Magician“, dessen Entstehung im Buch sowie durch eine s3D- und eine 2D-Produktion auf Blu-ray dokumentiert wurde.

Die Autoren haben es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, anhand theoretischer und praktischer Tests die Vorzüge und Nachteile von verschiedenen Display- und Projektionstechniken zu analysieren und zu bewerten. Die Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchung und Möglichkeiten zur bewussten Beeinflussung der Bewegtbilddarstellung tragen sie ausführlich und detailliert in diesem Werk zusammen.
