Reconhecer a diversidade da sociedade brasileira e compreender o princípio da igualdade como um mandamento antidiscriminatório são elementos essenciais para a efetivação dos direitos dos povos indígenas previstos nas normas internacionais e nacionais. Além disso, é preciso reconhecer que as mulheres indígenas também sofrem obstáculos específicos para acessar a justiça, em face da discriminação de gênero.
